Antrim Show will host the Final of the DANSKE BANK / NISA SHEEP CHAMPIONSHIP for the best ewe, any breed, any age, having reared a lamb in 2024.

The Danske Bank / Northern Ireland Shows Association Sheep Championship 2024 is being held this year at Antrim Show on Saturday 27 July 2024. All exhibitors wishing to qualify for this Championship must enter the name / breed of their animal(s) and exhibitor details with the qualifying show. Only the 1st and 2nd placed ewes, any breed, any age, having reared a lamb in 2024, in the relevant Sheep classes at the qualifying Shows are eligible to go forward to the Danske Bank / NISA Sheep Championship.

To maximise attendance of qualified exhibits at the Championship Final, Stewards will enquire if it is the intention of the exhibitors to be present at Antrim Show on Saturday 27 July 2024 for the Championship final.

In the event of the qualified exhibitors not wishing to attend the Championship, the Judge will be asked to identify further qualifying animals.

Qualifying exhibitors who do not appear at the Championship may be disqualified from competing in NISA Championships organised in 2025, unless good reason is given for such non attendance.

No exhibitor may qualify more than two exhibits for the Championship. Animals cannot qualify for the Championship in sheep classes at Antrim Show.

NISA will present special rosettes to the exhibitors of both qualifying animals at each qualifying Show. Each animal forward at the Championship, not in the top four, will be paid attendance money of £20.00.

Prize Money at the Final:
1st Prize - £300 Sash
2nd Prize £200
3rd Prize £100
4th Prize £50

(The above prize monies include the £20 attendance monies).

Prize money will be forwarded, by cheque, to the named exhibitor at the address notified to the Qualifying Show. It is important that details of the exhibitor, animal, address, contact details, are correctly lodged with the Show Secretary.

The Qualifying Shows are: Ballymoney, Lurgan, Armagh, Saintfield, Ballymena, Newry, Omagh, Castlewellan, and Co. Londonderry.
